The Advanced Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic practice by managing patient interactions, administrative tasks, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a high level of professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities efficiently. Position Details:
Patient Service Representative – Mercy Clinic Southfork Urology
Location: 12700 Southfork Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63128 Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Customer service experience preferred
Responsibilities:
• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing processes
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry
• Strong customer service skills with a patient‑focused approach
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy policies
• Adaptable, professional, and able to work well under pressure
• Effective problem‑solving and issue resolution skills
