Job Description
We are seeking a full time proactive and experienced referral secretary that can support our existing team. Ability to use initiative and to take ownership for their work is required. Experience with ERS and Emis web is desirable but training can be given. In return we offer a supportive, friendly environment with competitive salary along with NHS pension. We will consider candidates without experience that have transferable skills.
Main duties of the job
Secretarial Duties
Knowledge of EMIS web and Docman,
Good secretarial background, preferably in a medical environment
Proficient in typing letters of referral, Two week referrals and A&Gs and rarely transcribing dictation tapes.
E-referrals (choose & Book) make appointments for the patients, send patient appointment details, liaise with hospital/patients
Tasks - EMIS/Docman. Email relevant referrals/letters etc to appropriate department
Troubleshooting. Dealing with queries that crop up on a day to day basis
Dealing with telephone enquiries with hospitals, patients, insurance companies & third parties.
Chase results/appointments with appropriate hospitals/GP for patients
Follow the correct NWS guidelines pathways for referrals
Open and distribute post. Stamp/frank post
Email relevant referrals/letters to appropriate department
Liaise with GPs regarding any queries concerns etc
Other tasks as required

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience of working as a medical secretary or within a professional environment.
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade 7 or above in English
