About the companyRecover is a startup working to make addiction treatment and mental healthcare more effective, accessible, and affordable. We work with governments to use technology and medicine to improve outcomes for people who need care.

Our program is a tech-enabled treatment program for people with substance use and mental health challenges. We use a harm reduction approach to treatment, and are focused on serving marginalized and underserved communities. We are a small team growing quickly, and looking for people to grow with us.

Our team includes people from Yale Law, UCLA School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, and White House alums.

The opportunityAs an Engagement Coordinator for Recover, you'll be the first point of contact for people looking to access treatment. You'll handle inbound calls from prospective clients and make outbound calls to individuals referred to our program, helping them understand what Recover offers and getting them started with care.

Your core focus will be sharing information about Recover's services, confirming insurance status, walking clients through enrollment, and scheduling appointments. You’ll be the welcoming, organized person who helps clients navigate the path from referral to their first appointment.

Some clients will engage right away, while others may require follow-up and continued outreach. This also includes re-engaging clients who were previously in treatment, helping them reconnect to services and continue their recovery journey.

This role is fully remote and best suited for someone who is organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-centered environment. You'll report to the Head of Partnerships.

What you'll doClient Outreach & Engagement

Answer inbound calls from patients seeking treatment Make outbound calls to referred individuals, building rapport and sharing information about Recover's servicesFollow up with prospective clients who need additional outreach or who are awaiting insurance enrollmentEligibility & Enrollment

Confirm insurance status using verification portalsSearch and manage client records in our electronic health record, creating new charts or updating existing ones as neededWalk clients through enrollment documents and explain the sign-up processProvide warm hand-offs to other resources when clients are not eligible for Recover's servicesScheduling

Schedule initial appointments based on client preferences for timing, provider, and formatRequirements

Need to haveBilingual in Spanish and English1+ year of experience in a client-facing role involving phone-based outreach, intake, admissions, scheduling, or engagementFamiliarity with healthcareComfortable working independently and managing a high volume of calls and follow-upsStrong communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and explain processes clearlyNice to haveCertified or Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADT, CADC-I or higher, or equivalent)Experience with EHR systems Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settingsLived experience with substance use disordersBenefits
