About this role
The EH&S Manager we are looking for is a safety specialist responsible for promoting and instilling safe working practices throughout Nelson Labs Europe. As an EH&S Manager, you assist the employer, managers and employees in developing, program, execute and evaluate the policies provided by the dynamic risk management system, and ensure that our company complies with all safety-related regulations (local and national). In addition, you improve well-being at work through your advisory role to the CEO, management, and the safety committee. Your responsibilities include the following: Promotes a strong awareness and personal responsibility for HSE with all management and supervisory personnel; Supports senior leadership and operations and understand safety standards; Reviews NL-EU activities and ensure compliance with local and state HSE Policies, HSE Plans and Procedures, certificates and permits; Develop and maintains safety protocols (SOP’s and GxP compliant); Evaluate hazardous conditions in the workplace and implement training and safety strategies to eliminate dangers; Organizes and coordinates risk assessments; Implements and executes HSE training plan for NL-EU. such as : first aid, fire training, biosafety training, handling gas cylinders, chemical and biological safety; Works with lab to implement safety inspection program; Establishes and maintains management and employee commitment/buy-in on the safety program; Prepares, convenes and facilitates regular HSE Committee meetings; Ensures that emergency preparedness and response plans are developed, documented, implemented and tested; Organizes and facilitate training, drills and exercises for emergency preparedness and response; Coordinates emergency management and disaster recovery activities Ensures that effective medical, first aid, occupational health facilities, resources, equipment and consumables are provided and maintained; Manages MSDS; Conducts routine and random safety inspections (worksite analysis); Controlled & hazardous chemical disposal & coordination; Records and reports of injury and accidents, investigate occupational accidents; Works in close collaboration with external prevention service; Coordinates occupational hygiene programs; Coordinates and follow-up of periodic safety checks of installations with control organisms or suppliers; Making suggestions for safety improvements; Provides guidance during audits and inspections; Follows up on medical checkup for staff; Responsible for waste policy, pest control, hygiene and personal utilities; Collaborate with environmental coordinator. You hold a master’s degree or have equivalent experience. You have obtained your Level 2 Prevention Advisor certification in accordance with the Code du Bien-Etre / Codex over het welzijn op het werk. You have expertise and in-depth knowledge of EH&S issues, particularly regarding chemical substances and/or pharmaceuticals; You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Your communication skills and public presentation skills are highly developed and you have excellent writing skills in Dutch and English. You have a positive work attitude that is quality-oriented, solution-oriented and prevention-oriented; You value integrity and collaboration; You have an eye for detail and have no problem following predefined procedures; You are entrepreneurial by nature and like to take initiative.
