Assistant Director, Law Center Advancement - Georgetown University.
The Law Center Advancement Office raises funds to advance the institution’s mission and achieve the strategic goals set by the Executive Vice President/Dean of the Law School and the Assistant Dean of Development & Alumni Affairs. This position exists to expand the donor base and ensure long-term pipeline development by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects capable of making gifts in the $25,000 to $100,000 range. The Assistant Director focuses on canvassing high-potential markets, requiring regular travel primarily to the New York City and Washington, D.C. metro areas to increase alumni participation, rise the average gift size, and increase total annual revenue.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
• Identify and qualify new leadership annual and major gift prospects within assigned geographic territories.
• Develop and execute qualification and solicitation strategies through a high volume of direct donor visits.
• Complete a minimum of 150 personal donor visits annually across all stages of the fundraising continuum.
• Directly solicit and secure philanthropic commitments within the $25,000 to $100,000 range.
• Document all donor interactions, conversations, and strategic next steps by entering detailed contact reports into Salesforce.
• Partner with and facilitate regional visits for the Dean, advancement leadership, faculty, and senior administrators.
• Provide strategic counsel to advancement leadership regarding regional prospect targeting and pipeline development.
Work Interactions
The Assistant Director reports directly to the Assistant Vice President (AVP), Development and has no direct reports. Operating as a critical link within the broader advancement team, this position collaborates closely with senior gift officers and regional staff to ensure newly discovered prospects are seamlessly integrated into the long-term fundraising pipeline. By coordinating high-level regional visits for the Dean, the Assistant Dean of Development & Alumni Affairs, the AVP, Development, faculty, and senior administrators, the role serves to amplify the reach of the school's leadership. Ultimately, this position supports Georgetown University’s broader mission of academic excellence and institutional sustainability by establishing the vital, consistent relationships necessary to transform new prospects into dedicated investors in the Law Center's future.
Requirements and Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of professional fundraising experience, with a documented track record of successful face-to-face solicitations, are required
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with alumni, parents, and donors, as well as university faculty, staff, and administration
• Knowledge of the Google Suite and Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce is a plus
• Must have ability and willingness to travel frequently to assigned regions.
• Experience in higher education fundraising or institutional advancement is preferred

Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $47,586.00 - $87,558.13 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
