Job Description
Visa’s People Technology team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Automation with strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, Digital Process Automation, and Generative AI, combined with hands‑on experience in IT Operations, Application Support, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).
This role focuses on designing and scaling intelligent automations while also ensuring operational stability, security, compliance, and resilience of People Technology applications. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure, security, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Engineering
Design, develop, and deploy end‑to‑end automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Virtual Agents / Copilot Studio) and Generative AIBuild intelligent process orchestrations integrating low‑code workflows, RPA, APIs, and AI‑driven componentsApply Power Platform architectural best practices, including governance, security, scalability, and environment strategyDevelop and deploy RPA components, including bots, connectors, logging, monitoring, and code repositoriesSupport solution rollout, hyper‑care, and operational stability of deployed automationsCreate and maintain technical and functional documentation, including solution designs, UML diagrams, and process mapsEnsure automation quality through testing, validation, and QA processesPartner with business stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation plansPromote reusability, modular design, and performance optimizationIntegrate systems using SFTP, HTTP, SMTP, REST/SOAP, and enterprise APIsMeasure and report automation KPIs and ROI, driving continuous improvementStay current with emerging trends in Power Platform, RPA, and Generative AIIT Operations & Application Support
Provide Level 2 / Level 3 application support for assigned People Technology systemsDevelop and maintain IT Configuration Management practices and methodologiesAdminister configuration and asset management tools, ensuring CMDB accuracy, completeness, and integrityManage server patching for operating systems and middleware in coordination with Infrastructure teamsPlan, schedule, and execute vulnerability remediation activities using tools such as QualysMonitor, identify, and report unauthorized or non‑compliant changes to configuration itemsCollaborate closely with Infrastructure, Platform, and Security teams to support evolving technical requirementsParticipate in incident, problem, and change management, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsGovernance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
Participate in internal and external audits and remediate audit findings for assigned applicationsEnsure compliance with Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Data Privacy policies using approved enterprise toolsConduct application risk assessments and maintain security and privacy documentationSupport operational resiliency planning, including:Disaster recovery and failover strategiesService impact and dependency assessmentsBusiness continuity readinessApplication Ownership
Serve as Application Technology Coordinator (ATC) for assigned systemsEnsure ongoing compliance, configuration accuracy, and data qualityAct as a key coordination point between engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholdersDrive continuous improvement in operational maturity, reliability, and automationThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related fieldProven hands‑on experience in automation engineering or software development, with strong low‑code expertiseExperience delivering enterprise‑scale automation and application support solutions Key Skills Needed
Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Copilot / Power Virtual Agents)Experience building task and process automations using low‑code / no‑code platformsExposure to Generative AI use cases (AI‑assisted workflows, prompt engineering, document processing, chatbots, copilots)Experience integrating REST and SOAP APIsSolid understanding of workflow‑based logic and process orchestrationExperience with SQL, data transformation, and basic data modelingUnderstanding of object‑oriented concepts and relational databasesStrong knowledge of IT operations processes (incident, change, configuration, vulnerability management)Familiarity with IAM, security, privacy, and compliance requirementsStrong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to produce clear technical specifications and solution documentationExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong attention to detail and qualitySelf‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environmentCustomer‑centric mindset with a strong sense of ownership Visa is an EEO Employer.
