They work closely with boards, senior management, and auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance within Australian regulatory frameworks. This offshore role offers exposure to Australian accounting standards, listed- entity reporting, and auditor-facing responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Preparation of monthly management accounts and cash flow reportsAssistance with half-year and full-year statutory accounts in accordance with Australian Accounting StandardsGeneral ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal processingCash flow tracking, budgeting support, and cost monitoring across projects Systems & Process DevelopmentDevelop, document, and improve accounting procedures and internal controlsBuild scalable accounting systems and workflows to support reporting and audit requirementsEnsure consistency and accuracy of financial data across entitiesAudit & Compliance
Lead and manage external audits end-to-end, including planning, audit preparation, auditor liaison, and issue resolutionPrepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and technical accounting responsesSupport financial components of ASX reporting, including quarterly activities reports and Appendix filingsLiaise with Australian external accountants, auditors, and advisersRequirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA or CA, or is advantageous5+ years' experience in financial accounting, audit, or external accounting rolesProven experience building accounting systems, procedures, and controlsDemonstrated confidence leading audits from start to finishMust have led a minimum of 6 complete external audits from start to finishExperience supporting Australian or other IFRS-based clients preferredStrong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting processesHigh attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a remote environmentStrong written and verbal English communication skillsExperience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems preferredAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel
