Credence is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join our Cloud Managed Services Practice. This position will provide an opportunity to work with an experienced team of Cloud Engineers, Solutions Architects, and Cybersecurity professionals. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow their career in the Cloud space by honing their cloud knowledge and skillset. This position is based in Credence’s corporate headquarters located in Tyson’s Corner in Vienna, VA.
Responsibilities:
Administration of Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewalls, operating system, encryption tunnels, VPN, day-to- operations of firewall rule setsEngineer security solutions and standards based on requirements, best practices, and technical knowledgeParticipate in network security planning and network engineering activitiesPerform implementations of plans assigned, such as, system builds, test plans, documentation, and trainingImplement and deploy data and network security projects, Change Management, ongoing maintenance activities, and network engineering supportEnforce network security strategies and proceduresConfigure firewall rules, IPs, routing, and VPNsExecute tasks based on service requests and document changes Perform a wide range of system administration duties on core infrastructure, application, database, and other servers, including engineering, installation, break/fix troubleshooting, data protection and optimizationBe able to work independently and as part of a team.Requirements
US citizenship with the ability to obtain a public trust is requiredBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and a minimum of 5 years related technical work experienceAbility to work and produce results in an agile and fast-paced environment with dynamic deadlines.Experience with BigIP F5 virtual firewallsFamiliarity with basic cloud concepts (EC2/VM, service based databses, Infrastructure as code, Virtual Networking, etc.)Good understanding of the Linux operating systemFamiliarity with common protocols including but not limited to: DNS, SMTP, HTTP(s), SFTP, SCP Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, OCI, GCP, Azure, Private Clouds etc.) Familiarity with Active Directory and/or other LDAP based solutions.Excellent communication skills Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Palo Alto virtual firewallsAWS Associate or Specialty Level CertificationCompTIA Security+ certificationActive Secret Security Clearance.Experience working within the Federal government and/or DoDDODD 8570 Level II certification (SANS certifications, CISSP)Familiarity with incident response products and best practicesPA or F5 certifications
