The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control & Master Data Manager to ensure inventory accuracy, data integrity, and system alignment across all operational platforms. This role owns the governance of inventory-related master data and ensures that physical inventory, ERP systems, and third-party partners remain synchronized, accurate, and audit-ready.
This position plays a critical role in enabling reliable financial reporting, efficient fulfilment, seamless product launches, and scalable operations in a fast-growing consumer brand environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Control & Accuracy:
Own inventory accuracy across all warehouses, 3PL partners, and systems of record Lead programs for cycle counts, investigate variances, and drive root-cause resolution. Reconcile discrepancies between ERP, WMS, and external partners Partner with Operations and Finance to ensure inventory is audit-ready at all times.
2. Master Data Management:
Own the creation, maintenance, and governance of inventory-related master data, including:SKUs, item attributes, units of measure, BOMs, pack configurations Vendor and manufacturing-related item data Ensure consistency of data across ERP, WMS, and related systems. Establish and enforce data standards, validation controls, and approval workflows. Support new product launches through accurate and timely SKU setup.
3. Systems & Process Ownership:
Serve as the subject-matter expert for inventory and item master data within the ERP Document and maintain SOPs for inventory and master data processes Identify process gaps and implement scalable improvements Support system enhancements, integrations, and testing related to inventory and data management
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with: Finance on inventory valuation, costing, and month-end close Operations and Warehousing on inventory controls and movements Product Development on new SKU setup and updates Planning and Supply Chain on inventory visibility and reporting Act as the primary point of contact for inventory and master data inquiries
5. Reporting & Insights:
Develop and maintain inventory accuracy and variance reporting Provide clear visibility into risks, trends, and discrepancies Proactively flag issues that could impact fulfillment, financial reporting, or product launches
6. Success Measures (What Good Looks Like):
Sustained high inventory accuracy across all locations Minimal unexplained inventory variances Timely, error-free SKU and master data setup Clean reconciliations between ERP, WMS, and financial records Smooth audit outcomes with no material inventory or data findings Strong operational confidence in inventory reporting
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in inventory control, master data management, or supply chain operations Hands-on ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) Strong understanding of inventory flows, reconciliation, and controls Demonstrated ability to manage complex datasets with high accuracy Experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and external partners
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in CPG, beauty, or DTC environments Experience working with 3PLs and distributed warehouse networks Familiarity with audit processes and inventory valuation Experience supporting ERP implementations or system upgrades
