About the Team
The Brokerage Operations team is at the heart of our investment products, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our trading and account services. We are a group of maker-owners who manage billions of dollars, so the stakes are high.This role will join a specialized function within Brokerage Operations, working closely with leaders across Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Client Experience to support our market data infrastructure and client account processes.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Associate to join our Market Data team within Brokerage Account Operations. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of market data usage to our exchange partners and vendors. In addition, you will support our Account Operations team by managing the "Professional" client identification and onboarding process, a critical compliance function that impacts both market data and regulatory reporting.This is a unique opportunity to gain expertise in multiple facets of brokerage operations, from data analysis and compliance to process improvement and vendor relations.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
Manage the end-to-end monthly market data reporting process for Canadian and US exchanges (e.g., TMX, CSE, OPRA), ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
Utilize internal dashboards and reporting tools to gather, analyze, and consolidate quote usage data for non-professional and professional subscribers.
Support the client onboarding process by identifying and classifying clients as "Professional" or "Non-Professional" based on regulatory requirements, which is crucial for both market data billing and CIRO compliance.
Collaborate with the Account Operations team to handle client inquiries related to their professional status and maintain accurate client records.
Assist in reconciling vendor invoices against reported usage to ensure billing accuracy and contribute to cost analysis.
Identify and escalate data discrepancies or reporting issues, and work with Data Science and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve them.
Contribute to the documentation of market data reporting procedures and look for opportunities to streamline and automate workflows.
What you’ll bring:
1-3 years of experience in a financial services, brokerage operations, or data analyst role.
High attention to detail and a passion for working with large datasets to ensure accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
Proficiency with spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Product, and Client Experience.
A proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and making workflows more efficient.
(Nice to have) Familiarity with market data reporting requirements for exchanges like OPRA, TMX, or Nasdaq.
(Nice to have) Experience with SQL or data visualization tools.
