Job SummaryThis position will be utilized to supervise seasonal staff members in a wide variety of duties. Maintenance is responsible for the design, construction, repair, rehabilitation, restoration, maintenance, and operation of the Lakeshore infrastructure. We care for the preservation of historic structures, cultural landscapes, archaeological and ethnographic resources.

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) Ability To Lead Or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Knowledge of materials Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Vehicle Operation SCREEN OUTS: Minimum Qualifications: Have a knowledge of trade crafts in one of the following areas: carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and painting. Have personally supervised multiple workers performing custodial, facility maintenance helper or laborer work. Supervisory duties included identifying types and quantities of workers needed, making hiring decisions, training, assigning work, scheduling work and tracking attendance, reviewing work and evaluating performance, correcting conduct or performance problems, awarding superior work, and recommending rehire or termination. Commercial Driver's License: You must possess and maintain a current Class B. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. Major DutiesSupervise multiple workers performing a full range of routine facility maintenance, construction, and/or rehabilitation type work for the organization Knowledge of trade crafts in two or more of the following areas: carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, or painting. Knowledge and understanding of agency software and programs which use is required in average supervisory duties Cut-off Dates: This is an open continuous announcement, in which applications are collected over several months, and have multiple cut-off dates. Uniform: You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. Minimum Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.
