About this role
As a Verification & Validation Engineer , you will join Derby team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector.
You will play a key role in delivering confidence to some of the most highly regulated, safety-critical systems in the UK. This is your chance to influence the reliability of groundbreaking nuclear technology—where proving a product works is just as important as designing it in the first place.
Location: Derby On Site: 2 times per week Clearance: BPSS Experience Level: 1- 10 YOE Key Responsibilities:
Developing smart, robust V&V strategies and plans—right from requirements to final validation.Carrying out or reviewing verification activities like analysis, inspections, and tests.Reviewing technical evidence to assess compliance with system requirements.Working closely with design teams to make sure systems meet the safety and performance needs of a regulated environment.Applying your engineering know-how to safety-critical hardware, from mechanical systems to HVAC and beyond. Required Skills:
Strong technical writing and communication skills—you’ll be reviewing and reporting on critical evidence.Familiarity with codes such as ASME, ACI, ASCE, ANSI, and British/European Standards.Experience with Verification & ValidationAble to think critically and work independently.Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Experience in nuclear, power generation, or other safety-critical industriesKnowledge of ONR safety principles, INPO guidance, or similar regulatory frameworks Why join us?
