About this role
As a Control System and Software Verification Engineer you will join our team in Derby to support our activities within the Aerospace sector.
You will play a key role in the verification and validation of controls sub-systems, working primarily on the right-hand side of the V-model development lifecycle. The role involves creating, executing, and analysing verification activities to ensure systems meet defined requirements and comply with industry standards. You will work closely with systems, software, and controls engineers within a regulated engineering environment.

Perform system, integration, and unit-level verification activities in line with the V-model lifecycleCreate and execute test procedures and test cases derived from Sub-System Requirements Documents (SSRDs)Conduct system verification and validation for controls sub-systemsEnsure requirements traceability, linking verification evidence back to system and software requirementsAnalyse test results and produce verification, validation, and traceability reportsSupport formal software candidate builds and acceptance testingContribute to the development of system verification strategies (SVS) and supporting documentation Required Skills:
Strong experience working on the right-hand side of the V-model (verification & validation)Proven experience in controls system verificationAbility to write and execute unit, integration, and system-level test casesStrong understanding of requirements traceability and verification reportingFamiliarity with ARP-4754 or similar aerospace / automotive verification standardsExperience analysing test results and producing formal verification documentationRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Experience working in a regulated or safety-critical engineering environmentDesirable Skills:
Experience working with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or similar test rigsBackground in System Acceptance Testing for formal software releasesExperience with automated and interactive testing approachesKnowledge of creating System Verification Strategy (SVS) documentationPrevious experience in aerospace, automotive, defence, or other safety-critical industries Why join us?
