About this role
Within the project, your main tasks will include:
Represent the Voice of the Customer in the Manufacturing Plants, driving proposals for product and process modificationsContribute to achieving KPI targets within their perimeter by improving quality in the Plant (0 km) and in the Field (customer issues), and by driving continuous improvementDemonstrate strong responsiveness to achieve quality and production targetsSupport the QPEM in proposing hold and market decisions (e.g. yard holds, build-and-hold)Provide technical support and facilitate discussions with Manufacturing Operations and SuppliersDevelop technical plant park rework procedures, in coordination with PDT, to avoid retouch costs and delayed customer deliverySupport post-launch and window activities, including retrofit actions, to ensure vehicles are updated with the correct hardware and software, and verify execution of flash campaigns to correct software levelsCore Missions and Activities
Main Activities
Build and manage the QPE team’s workload by prioritizing and allocating tasks when assignedEnsure team efficiency through structured problem-solving methodologies (5P, 7 Diamond, Kepner-Tregoe, Shainin Red X)Support the QPEM in KPI convergence and team coordination (QPM in Mechanical Plants)Conduct skills mapping and succession planning in collaboration with QPEM and QPMDrive triage and resolution of systemic and plant-controllable quality issues within their perimeterIn-Field Quality Monitoring
Achieve quality KPIs within the assigned perimeter through effective monitoring, escalation, and implementation of corrective actionsOversee supplier quality engagement, customer feedback loops, and plant dealership networks via Customer and Supplier ObeyaProcess quality data using tools such as Palantir and Supplier Ticket IT toolsEnsure timely completion of warranty claim analyses, part analyses, and pending Parts and Issue Analyses by the teamProvide technical documentation and support for Yard Holds and Product Related Issues / Transversal Plant Alerts, including coordination of Process Sign-Off and Inspection/Rework Procedures, support of daily technical calls, and acceleration of the 7 DiamondsEnsure timely containment and resolution of field issues in cooperation with the Control Tower and Dealership Networks through daily Short Loop meetingsFor Mechanical Plants, coordinate with Chief Engineers and Serial Life Quality Managers to validate field issues and ensure timely containment and resolutionSupport the deployment of field campaigns in coordination with the Control TowerSupplier Relationship
Participate in Supplier Obeya and coordinate with Supply Chain and PurchasingEnsure traceability of breakpoints in IT tools (PLM, GIMs, Supplier Issue Management) related to supplier and manufacturing issues within company facilitiesPilot suppliers for rollback and containment actions in case of non-conformities at manufacturing facilitiesValidate supplier action plans and ensure proper documentation for process changes related to non-conformitiesProduct and Process Change Acceptance
Support plants and meta-functions to ensure product and process changes do not disturb Plant or Field QualityBe responsible for PPAP approval (Gates 4 and 5) during Launch and Serial Mass Production, including Make-PPAP for Mechanical QPELLead technical support for temporary alternative product solutions in plants, with PDT approvalFollow up and validate product and process changes within the assigned perimeterParticipate in Panorama Evolution Product Process reviews when requiredMonitor and support Quality Manufacturing Launch Team activities by following the vehicle through key build stages to confirm issue resolution and compliance with quality standardsIntegrate manufacturing lessons learned into project launchesContribute to launch transition activities by coordinating with the PDT industrialization teamInternal Quality Improvement
Ensure quality management of sensitive processes within the perimeter (e.g. torque, noise, geometry, sealing, EOL testing) through monitoring, escalation, and corrective actions, in line with regional responsibilitiesSupport implementation and maintenance of process and product controls to meet vehicle and system functional objectives (e.g. ADAS, BSR, FEA)Support the plant in securing production by assisting with Diamond summaries, leading supplier rollback actions, implementing containment or rework solutions, and formalizing redesign remediesEnsure feedback and lessons learned are communicated to the Design team, including design-for-manufacturing topicsEnsure adherence to manufacturing quality standards and technical requirements impacting the perimeterAct as guarantor of the robustness of the plant monitoring plan by implementing and communicating the plan, facilitating control and rework stations, conducting Layered Process Audits and plant maturity audits, and tracking reconvergence actions Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited universityOther engineering degrees may be considered in combination with relevant experienceMinimum of 8 years of relevant professional experiencePrevious experience within an Engineering Department, a vehicle or mechanical manufacturing plant, or a project teamAbility to lead an engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on timeStrong experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective actionsEffective written and verbal communication skills, from high-level meetings to shop-floor interactionsAbility to work off-shift hours as requiredSelf-motivated and autonomousAbility to thrive in a high-intensity environment while managing multiple projects simultaneouslyRigorous, structured, and pragmatic approachLanguages: plant language and EnglishPreferred Requirements
