About this role
Waste Disposal Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Packages expired chemicals for shipment or disposal.Empties satellite containers into bulk containers and takes back to laboratory for reuse.Maintains chemical storage area to keep it clutter-free and free of fire hazards.Ships hazardous waste from the laboratory prior to the RCRA time limit for the facility.Tracks volume of waste generated for reporting to corporate and EPA.Prepares and tracks implementation of Waste Minimization Plan.Orders and maintains chemical inventory for the laboratory.Manages consignment room to keep all laboratory areas supplied.Provides assistance to other departments/areas as needed. Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.Basic Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or EquivalentAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. with additional hours, as needed.
