We’re looking for a Director and Head of Project Management for Deliveroo HOP Italy. This is a Dirigente-level position reporting directly to the General Manager. You will be the primary architect of our dark store network in Italy, owning the P&L and leading the commercial strategy for one of our most critical global growth pillars.
What You’ll Be DoingYou will lead a cross-functional team, acting as the strategic bridge between our London HQ and local Italian operations. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Deliveroo HOP in Italy, from real estate acquisition to commercial profitability.
Commercial P&L Ownership: Lead high-level negotiations and take full responsibility for the financial delivery of HOP Italy, managing the annual plan and weekly performance targets.
Strategic Infrastructure: Build and scale our dark store network across Italy, navigating local regulatory landscapes and municipality requirements.
HOP Evangelist: Represent the Italian business in global forums to secure the resources and support needed to deliver on local expansion goals.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Grow and lead a high-performing team, including Trade Marketing and Vendor Managers, fostering a culture of ownership and data-led decision-making.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Coordinate with Supply Chain, Marketing, and Real Estate teams to ensure the seamless rollout of localized grocery solutions.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the nationwide infrastructure project, ensuring all launches are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with our global strategy.
Who You AreWe are looking for a "Strategic Operator" with a deep understanding of the Italian market:
Senior Leadership: 10+ years of experience in high-growth environments (Food Delivery, Retail, or Logistics) with at least 5 years in a Dirigente or senior leadership role.
Expansion Expertise: A proven track record of scaling physical infrastructure or complex operations across Italy.
Expert Negotiator: Ability to navigate the nuances of the Italian business landscape and build lasting relationships with third-party partners and local authorities.
Data-Driven & Decisive: You use rigorous analysis to solve problems but possess the "gut instinct" to move quickly in a competitive market.
Linguistic Versatility: Native-level fluency in Italian and professional proficiency in English are essential.
