Position Title: Professional Land SurveyorLocation: Baltimore, Maryland (projects primarily within MD)Employment Type: Full-Time Position OverviewWe are seeking a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team and support a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the state of Maryland. This role requires hands-on surveying expertise, strong knowledge of Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) / State Highway Administration (SHA) standards, and the ability to manage surveying tasks from planning through execution.The ideal candidate is a seasoned surveyor who is comfortable working both in the field and in coordination with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely survey results. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and oversee boundary, topographic, right-of-way, construction, and control surveysPrepare, review, and certify survey plats, maps, and related documentationEnsure all survey work complies with MDOT / SHA standards, specifications, and proceduresCoordinate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to support roadway and transportation projectsProvide technical guidance and quality control for survey data and deliverablesManage field operations, schedules, and priorities as neededMaintain accurate records, notes, and survey filesCommunicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding project status and requirements Required QualificationsActive Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Maryland (required)5+ years of professional surveying experience, including direct experience with MDOT / SHA projectsStrong working knowledge of Maryland surveying regulations and transportation project requirementsProficiency with standard surveying equipment and softwareAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Additional RequirementsMust be willing to use personal vehicle for travel to project sitesMileage and vehicle use will be reimbursed in accordance with company policyAbility to perform field work in varying weather and site conditions
