Position Job Title O&M Operator - Power Job location (Department/Plant) Operations Reporting to Shift Charge Engineer Job Summary Operates and monitors a hybrid power generation facility consisting of photovoltaic (PV) arrays, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and internal combustion engine (ICE) generators. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all systems, performs routine checks, and assists with basic maintenance and troubleshooting to maintain stable and reliable power output. Roles & Responsibilities S. No. Responsibility 1 Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipments in his area. Follow the instructions of the Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer and Senior O&M Operator. 2 Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer and with other Operators in regard to all activities that affect them. Monitor all parameters and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book. 3 Inspect the area and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the Senior O&M Operator and Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer 4 Perform equipment changeover according to preset schedules. Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment. 5 Coordinate with Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer for isolating and lining up the equipments and system before and after maintenance. Maintain a tidy work area and ensure clean up after maintenance work. 6 Perform electrical switching for low, medium voltages. 7 Awareness about electrical/mechanical systems hazards, and ability to perform operational tasks on electrical/mechanical systems in a safe manner. 8 Assist in the training and familiarization of new local desalination operators. 9 Follow standard procedures 10 Use proper PPEs and implement prescribed risk controls 11 Report deviations in Quality, Health and safety management system 12 Report emergencies and near misses 13 Ensure proper waste disposal measures 14 Perform other duties as assigned Job Specifications Educational Desired Diploma Preferred Degree Minimum Experience (Type and duration) Minimum 3-4 years in Desalination/Power plant. Preferable Experience in Middle East Required Skills 1. Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles 2. Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste 3. Knowledge of Emission Monitoring 4. Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant 5. Knowledge of firefighting equipment 6. Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment 7. Knowledge of First aid measure 8. Should be well conversed with Desalination Operational activities. 9. Interpersonal. Desired certification / Job specific skill / Training ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
