Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering with a dual major or minor in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred. A Co-op in this position will work within one of our Centers of Competency (CoC’s). Essential Functions: <ul> <li>Advanced product concept R&D and new product development</li> <li>Systems development and test simulation design (electronic/mechanical systems, prototyping/input, signals/design control, architecture/signal output conditioning/GUI, and display systems)</li> <li>Product validation and troubleshooting in laboratory and vehicle environments</li> <li>Oversee inventory, assembly, and coordination of testing with technicians</li> <li>Product support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis</li> <li>Software algorithm/HW validation using software and hardware-in-the-loop technologies</li> <li>Product phase reviews, product DFMEAs, and project management</li> <li>Special braking systems and modules design</li> <li>Electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuit analysis</li> <li>Product application development, road test, and customer demos</li> <li>Assist in translating customer requirements into new product</li> </ul> Eligibility Requirements: <ul> <li>Currently attending an accredited college or university</li> <li>3.0 cumulative GPA or higher</li> <li>Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Exceptional analytical skills</li> <li>Ability to establish trust and credibility</li> <li>Enjoyment in research and development (R&D)</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills</li> <li>Fluency in English, German, and Spanish is a plus</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint</li> <li>Hands-on skills with mechanical tools, shop equipment, and trucks</li> <li>Computer Language – HTML, Visual Basic</li> <li>Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and simple electronic systems</li> </ul> General Information: <ul> <li>Hours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland) </li> <li>Pay Rate: $19 - $26/hour (contingent upon credit hours)</li> </ul> Position Requirements: The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
