JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary The Finance Project Analyst provides essential financial and administrative support to the finance project team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and analytical skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team. Essential Functions: <ul> <li style="">Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports, consistently meeting monthly reporting deadlines.</li> <li style="">Communicate performance variances to management promptly and effectively.</li> <li style="">Clearly articulate assumptions and rationale during discussions and presentations.</li> <li style="">Maintain well-documented assumptions taken in Estimate to Complete (ETC) reports, stored in designated shared drives.</li> </ul> Knowledge: <ul> <li style="">Project Accounting for Short Term Projects, or Long Term Projects that are classified as Non-Critical, or in the Warranty/Close Out Phase:</li> <li style="">Perform accounting tasks for projects within portfolio.</li> <li style="">Tracks project budgets and expenditures, and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.</li> <li style="">Support project managers in monitoring project financial performance.</li> <li style="">Works with project team on cash management of project, including booking invoices and updating cash forecasts.</li> <li style="">Assist the project team to prepare financial reports and presentations to support the Management Project Review Cycle.</li> <li style="">Prepares financial reports and presentations related to projects to support the Finance Project Review Cycle.</li> </ul> Experience <ul> <li style="">Ensure completeness of timesheets at month end.</li> <li style="">Maintain a monthly gap hours file and provide recommendation in terms of hours accrual.</li> <li style="">Reconcile hours between the time/attendance system and the ERP.</li> <li style="">Run monthly cost center actuals vs budget reports, coordinate monthly cost centers meetings with cost centers owners.</li> <li style="">Gather comments from department heads on personnel low utilization.</li> <li style="">Administrative Tasks:</li> <li style="">Oversee the maintenance and updating of process documents related to project finance, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.</li> <li style="">Run bi-weekly cash review sessions with Project Directors and Senior Finance Project manager.</li> <li style="">Assist in the organization and upkeep of project files, both physical and digital.</li> <li style="">Provide general administrative support to the finance project team.</li> <li style="">Responsible for new project set-up and hand off to FPM and project team.</li> <li style="">Responsible for closeout of projects as assigned.</li> <li style="">Handle other special assignments and projects as assigned by management.</li> <li style="">Month End preparation tasks and downloading of month end financials from ERP system.</li> </ul> Skills: <ul> <li style="">Accounting Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.</li> <li style="">Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred) and MS Office, especially Excel.</li> <li style="">Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.</li> <li style="">Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li style="">Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.</li> <li style="">Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and propose solutions related to project finances.</li> </ul> Education: <ul> <li style="">Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.</li> <li style="">1-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably with exposure to project-based accounting.</li> </ul> The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Rochester, NY is $65 to $95K per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education.
