<p> </p><p><strong>Looking for a post-graduate VIE opportunity or after a first experience in project finance ?</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>This opportunity in Australia is made for you !</p> <p> </p> <p>Bouygues Bâtiment International (BBI) is the international division of Bouygues Construction, specialized in delivering complex buildings projects worldwide.</p> <p> </p> <p>Joining BBI means working in a multicultural and innovative environment, at the heart of ambitious construction projects.</p> <p> </p> <p>The position is based at the AW Edwards head office in Sydney, a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, and reports to the Senior Cost Controller within the Finance & Accounting team.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:18.0pt"><strong>Your role</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p>As an Assistant Cost Controller, you will contribute to the financial management of projects by supporting operational teams in monitoring and analysing costs.</p> <p>Your main responsibilities will include:</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Cost Management - Commitments</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Monitor and control committed project costs</li> <li>Manage Purchase Orders and ensure correct WBS allocation</li> <li>Review and validate invoices (with or without Purchase Orders)</li> <li>Ensure proper approval workflows are followed</li> <li>Monitor outstanding Purchase Orders and close them when necessary</li> <li>Contribute to monthly accruals and cost recognition processes</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><strong>Cost Management - Subcontractors</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Verify correct allocation of subcontractor costs within systems (Edifice)</li> <li>Review and validate subcontractor claims and variations</li> <li>Ensure proper follow-up of subcontract final accounts in coordination with Contract Administrators</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Cost Control - Financial Management</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Contribute to monthly financial reporting and forecasting activities</li> <li>Analyse cost variances, identify risks and opportunities</li> <li>Challenge forecasts with Project Managers and Contract Administrators</li> <li>Support budget reallocations and maintain the project WBS structure</li> <li>Participate in monthly financial review meetings with project teams</li> <li>Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and data reliability</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Client Interface</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Support the preparation and follow-up of client claims</li> <li>Monitor payments and track contractual variations and their financial impact</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Internal interfaces</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Work closely with Project Managers, Contract Administrators, Finance and Accounting teams</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:18.0pt"><strong>Your profile</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or equivalent</li> <li>First experience in project cost control / finance (internship, apprenticeship or initial work experience)</li> <li>Strong Excel skills and interest in financial tools (SAP is a plus)</li> <li>Good understanding of project management principles (budgeting, forecasting, reporting)</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Personal qualities:</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Strong analytical and organisational skills</li> <li>Accuracy and reliability</li> <li>Team spirit and collaborative mindset</li> <li>Ability to challenge and communicate effectively</li> <li>Adaptability in an international and multicultural environment</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Fluent English is mandatory to operate in this environment.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:18.0pt"><strong>Practical information</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>VIE contract (12 months, renewable)</li> <li>Location: Sydney, Australia</li> <li>Housing allowance: 1 150€/month in addition to VIE allowance</li> <li>Round-trip flights covered by the company</li> <li>Start date: 1st of October 2026</li> </ul><p> </p>
