Bouygues Civil Works Division | Lower Thames Crossing Job Purpose To manage on-site delivery of diaphragm wall construction works, ensuring safety, quality, programme and productivity targets are achieved within a complex major project environment. Main Responsibilities Project Planning & Early Engagement <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Actively participate at least six months prior to project commencement to assess site conditions, define construction methods, and identify required resources (manpower, equipment, and materials).</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Work closely with the design team to select construction methodologies that ensure feasibility, safety, and efficiency.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Contribute to tendering activities by providing input on construction methods, manpower planning, site execution strategies, and cost considerations.</li> </ul> Construction Execution & Site Management <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Oversee daily site activities, ensuring construction methods, equipment deployment, and resource allocation align with technical specifications and budget constraints.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Manage and supervise construction workers, subcontractors, and site supervision teams by setting objectives, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with schedules, quality standards, and working hours.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Oversee in-house production and integrated subcontracted works, particularly on complex or large-scale projects.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Proactively identify and respond to site issues, risks, and project developments.</li> </ul> Financial & Programme Control <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Manage financial plans and implement cost-control strategies to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budget.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Monitor progress against programme milestones and take corrective action where necessary to maintain schedule.</li> </ul> Quality, Safety & Compliance <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Perform routine site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ensure the implementation of safe working practices and full compliance with company Health & Safety policies at all times.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Address non-conformities and site issues promptly and effectively.</li> </ul> Stakeholder & Team Management <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Act as the primary liaison between the site team and the client, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and timely resolution of issues.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Lead, mentor, and support supervision teams to optimise performance and foster professional growth.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Collaborate with HR to identify training needs and support the development of targeted training programmes.</li> </ul> Qualifications & Experience <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">NVQ Level 6/7, HNC/HND or equivalent</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Proven experience supervising diaphragm wall works on major projects</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Strong leadership and coordination skills in complex site environments</li> </ul>Interested or want to learn more?
