About this role

<p>Mediq UK are a supplier of healthcare consumables, healthcare equipment, cleaning, and hygiene products, as well as healthcare devices to hospitals, care homes, and other facilities serving the healthcare sector in the UK.</p> <p>We are recruiting for <strong>a Facilities Coordinator to join our QA team based in Castle Donington.</strong> </p> <p>Reporting into the Head of Quality and Regulatory, the Facilities Coordinator will manage the daily upkeep, maintenance, and operations of a company&apos;s physical space. You will ensure the operational work areas are safe, efficient, and functional by coordinating repairs, overseeing contractors, managing supplies, handling work orders, and ensuring health &amp; safety compliance. The coordinator will act as a key link between operations and service providers to maintain a productive work environment</p> <p><strong>Salary - £30,000</strong></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Maintenance Coordination</strong>: Schedule and oversee routine/planned preventative maintenance for building systems (HVAC, security, plumbing, alarms, MHE) and equipment, and arrange for repairs.</li> <li><strong>Contractor Management</strong>: Act as the main point of contact for external contractors, negotiating services, managing contracts, inductions, permits to work and ensuring quality work.</li> <li><strong>Health &amp; Safety</strong>: Performing regular building safety inspections, ensuring compliance with fire and security regulations, and maintaining safety records.</li> <li><strong>Inventory &amp; Supplies:</strong> Monitor and manage stock of facilities related consumables (Baling wire, replacement beams etc).</li> <li><strong>Operations Hygiene</strong> – Manage work equipment and ensure internal and external work areas are maintained</li> <li><strong>Facilities Requests Management</strong>: Handle incoming maintenance requests and resolve issues as swiftly as possible, providing feedback to the initiator.</li> <li><strong>Reporting:</strong> Provide regular updates to management on facility status, expenses, and projects.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What are we looking for? </strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and safety regulations.</li> <li>Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with staff and contractors.</li> <li>Experience with facilities management software is a plus.</li> <li>IT literate.</li> <li>Planning skills.</li> <li>Attention to detail</li> <li>Flexible and resilient – able to deal with time constraints and adversity</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Benefits</strong></p> <ul> <li>25 days holiday plus bank holidays</li> <li>4x Life Assurance</li> <li>Pension scheme</li> <li>Sick Pay</li> <li>Cycle to work scheme</li> <li>Employee Assistance Programme</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.</p> <p> </p>
