At Excelitas Technologies you are how we EXCEL. </span></span><br> </p> <div id="tor__flistingLayout_readOnlyDiv"> <div id="tor__flistingLayout_content"> <p>We are presently seeking a <strong>Diamond Turning Technician</strong> who will operate single-point diamond turning equipment in the production flow of low to high-volume jobs. </p> <p> </p> <p>Main responsibilities:</p> <p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Working knowledge of geometry and trigonometry</li> <li>Perform mechanical inspections using micrometers, optical comparators, dial indicators, and drop gauges to ensure components meet specifications with diameter, sag, and center thickness</li> <li>Read and interpret complex prints to determine tolerances and specifications</li> <li>Operate and maintain diamond turning equipment for the precision manufacturing of infrared optical lenses and metal mirrors</li> <li>Adjust, understand programming, set up, and operate state-of-the-art lathe equipment</li> <li>Understands the effect of feed rate, depth of cut, spindle speeds and their effect on quality with different materials</li> <li>Responsible for cleaning and visually inspecting diamond-turned optical components, ensuring compliance with ISO and MIL standards for surface quality and dimensional accuracy</li> <li>Inspects, maintains, and handles single-point diamond tools, knowledgeable in tool features, application, and proper use</li> <li>Optical metrology skills, including calibration and operation of interferometers and surface profilometers (e.g., Form Talysurf) for form error and surface roughness inspection of lenses and mirrors</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>High School Diploma or GED preferred.</li> <li>2+ year’s optics diamond turning or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred. </li> <li>Basic Math skills</li> <li>Teamwork – the ability to work effectively and contribute to a team</li> <li>CNC lathe experience is preferred</li> <li>Utilizes good communication and interpersonal skill</li> <li>Knowledge with DiffSys tool path software or similar</li> <li>Familiar with G&amp;M code, modification of tool path, and use call programs as needed</li> <li>Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Windows</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Benefits start day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, PAID Maternity/Paternity leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Long-term and Short-term disability</p> <p> </p> <p>Pay Range: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience.</p> <p> </p> <p>Our facility in Boulder, Colorado, has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines.
