We are presently seeking a R&D Software Engineer who will support the continuous improvement and support of deployed software implementation in thin film optical coating manufacturing. Main Responsibilities <ul> <li>Support current and develop new implementations of software supporting production optical thin film coating equipment</li> <li>Develop software which interfaces process equipment to production databases</li> <li>Collaborates with Thin Film Engineering team and incorporates feedback into current and future software deployments</li> <li>Participate in peer reviews for software designs and implementations</li> <li>Engage with a variety of team members with varying levels of expertise in software development</li> <li>Support a formal software development lifecycle which delivers a well-documented, robust and reliable solution to ensure long-term sustainability</li> <li>Develop documentation to support software users (software engineers, production technicians, and engineers)</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> Requirements <ul> <li>Required <ul> <li>STEM based bachelor’s degree</li> <li>5+ years professional programming experience in C#</li> <li>Ability to work with in house customers to develop design specifications and execute on software application to support new product and operational execution</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Preferred Skills and Experience <ul> <li>Experience Programming in a manufacturing environment</li> <li>C# programming with WPF, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, and WCF</li> <li>MS SQL database design and query with TSQL</li> <li>C# techniques - interface programming, multi-threading, asynchronous programming, MVVM, and Windows Services</li> <li>Web App programming with MVC – with\without client-side JavaScript, and Web API</li> <li>Basic use of Git/GitHub with Visual Studio and VS Code</li> <li>Real-time machine control programming</li> <li>Familiarity with RS232 / RS488 protocols</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Helpful Experience <ul> <li>C++ and Python programming experience</li> <li>Device firmware programming</li> <li>SCADA programming</li> <li>Vacuum system knowledge</li> <li>User and design documentation</li> </ul> </li> </ul> Benefits start day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Holiday Pay, PAID Maternity/Paternity leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Long-term and Short-term disability.
