We are presently seeking a Senior Buyer who will be responsbile for driving supply chain initatives that support new product introductions, fostering strong cross-functional alignment, and optimizing supplier performance. Main responsibilities: <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Works closely and collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Document, Inventory and Quality control groups to procure materials.</li> <li>Identifies new and existing suppliers capable of meeting materials specifications, quality requirements and lead times to successfully support production schedules and meeting customer commitments.</li> <li>Requests quotations, negotiates pricing and delivery schedules. Facilitates contract and T&C negotiations.</li> <li>Compiles quotes comparison matrixes and collaborates with project managers for optimal supplier selection.</li> <li>Releases new materials and maintains pricing, lead time and purchasing parameters in the ERP and Document Control systems.</li> <li>Issues purchase orders and manages open orders in the ERP system with emphasis on data accuracy.</li> <li>Monitors open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.</li> <li>Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information.</li> <li>Proactively reports potential shortages and availability issues to project managers, manufacturing & planning organizations and works with suppliers to resolve delays.</li> <li>Establishes priorities for assigned suppliers to meet customer (internal or external) requirements.</li> <li>Act as primary interface between internal customers and source of supply in technical, quality and FAI discussions.</li> <li>Controls the inventory of assigned products in accordance with customer requirements and management objectives.</li> <li>Processes returns of non-conforming products to suppliers.</li> <li>Supports other members of the Purchasing team as needed through cross training and flexing as workload dictates.</li> <li>Will help define, develop and document Supply Chain and Purchasing processes for New Program Introductions.</li> <li>Will be subject matter expert and provide direction for the purchasing aspects of the ERP transition to SAP</li> <li>May be required to perform as a buyer/planner role in a new product introduction.</li> <li>Ensures compliance with company operating policies and procedures.</li> <li>Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Complete special projects and assignments as requested by Management</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Production and Operations Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or other related field preferred.</li> <li>APICS certifications a plus.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, with deep functional knowledge to optimize inventory, production scheduling, and supply chain efficiency</li> <li>5 + years of purchasing experience, defense and/or optics experience a plus</li> <li>Familiar with ITAR compliance and procurement of materials for defense products a plus.</li> <li>Demonstrated skills in sourcing, purchasing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.</li> <li>Experience in new product implementation environment and low volume purchasing preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge and understanding of production operations, purchasing, and inventory planning.</li> <li>Problem solving skills, including logical thought processes with the ability to resolve complex issues</li> <li>Self-motivated with the ability to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, meet multiple deadlines, and work with minimal direct supervision.</li> <li>Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.</li> <li>Purchasing experience in an ERP environment. SAP is a plus.</li> <li>Advanced computer skills are required. Solid skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). In-depth Excel knowledge.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills. Data collection and report creation experience.</li> <li>Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.</li> <li>Project Management experience a plus.</li> <li>Strong leadership skills.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Strong team player with proven ability to facilitate collaboration in cross regional and multi-cultural teams.</li> <li>Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.</li> </ul> Benefits start day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Self-Managed Vacation, Holiday Pay, PAID Maternity/Paternity leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Long-term and Short-term disability.
