At Excelitas Technologies you are how we EXCEL.</span></span></p> <p style="margin-bottom:11.0px"> </p> <p>We are seeking an <strong>Operations Controller</strong> who works as a key finance business partner supporting plant operations, manufacturing leadership, and corporate finance. This role is responsible for managing and analyzing all aspects of a plant's financial performance realted to manufacturing cost, inventory, production variances, capital investments, and standard costing.</p> <p> </p> <p>Main Responsibilities:</p> <p><strong>Financial Planning & Analysis</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Own and manage the financial performance of the Boulder manufacturing plant, including manufacturing cost, inventory, CAPEX, and cost of goods sold.</li> <li>Prepare and analyze monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and standard cost updates in coordination with plant leadership and the North American Operations Controlling team.</li> <li>Support monthly variance analysis (labor, overhead, absorption, material usage, and purchase price variances) and provide clear commentary to management.</li> <li>Identify and validate Continuous Improvement (CI) and Savings initiatives in collaboration with Operations and Engineering.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reporting & Month-End Close</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Lead and execute month-end closing activities for the plant, including inventory reconciliation, WIP review, variance analysis, and production order settlement.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with corporate closing timelines, targeting a 4-day close.</li> <li>Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts related to inventory, GR/IR, and fixed assets.</li> <li>Support the calculation and reporting of warranty provisions, inventory reserves, and E&O (Excess & Obsolete) inventory.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Costing & Inventory Control</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Work with EngineeringMaintain accurate BOMs, routings, and cost center rates in SAP S/4HANA to ensure correct product costing.</li> <li>Support annual standard cost roll and ensure alignment with corporate guidelines.</li> <li>Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to monitor inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and scrap reporting.</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement in inventory valuation, COGS tracking, and variance management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Capital Expenditures (CAPEX)</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Coordinate with Engineering and Operations to develop and track CAPEX requests and spending.</li> <li>Support Investment Management processes, including project approval, capitalization, and depreciation tracking.</li> <li>Provide post-implementation financial reviews and ROI validation for completed projects.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compliance, Systems & Process Improvement</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Ensure adherence to US GAAP, SOX, and internal control requirements.</li> <li>Support standardization of reporting and control processes across sites in collaboration with the North American Controlling team.</li> <li>Participate in ERP (SAP S/4HANA) and EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) system initiatives for automation and efficiency.</li> <li>Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Corporate Finance to implement best practices.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other equivalent accreditation.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of manufacturing finance or cost accounting experience.</li> <li>Strong understanding of SAP, including production orders, internal orders, and cost center accounting.</li> <li>Experience in discrete manufacturing or high-tech/optics industry preferred.</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar analytics tools.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience with financial forecasting, variance analysis, and standard costing.</li> <li>Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills</li> </ul> <p>Benefits start day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Self-Managed Vacation, Holiday Pay, PAID Maternity/Paternity leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Long-term and Short-term disability.</p> <p>Pay Range: $114,000-$140,000, based on experienced and education.</p> <p> </p> <p>Our facility in Boulder, Colorado, has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines.
