About this role
<p>The main purpose of this position is to specialize in one or more areas of new application / database development. The Developer will be responsible for analyzing, programming, documenting, debugging, and testing applications in the development environment.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Developes new products and support applications already in production.</li> <li>Adhere to pre-defined programming standards set by Application Architects and Develops recommendations regarding further definition of development standards and application architecture principles.</li> <li>Creates documentation using established PMO standards.</li> <li>Use source control systems such as VSS, CVS, TFS.</li> <li>Performs unit testing and assists in user testing of programming modifications.</li> <li>Leads and facilitates design sessions and code walk-throughs, and mentor Analysts on technical and functional aspects of the applications.</li> <li>Provides technical estimates.</li> <li>Addresses system problems during off hours with the guidance from other members of the development staff as needed.</li> <li>Attends staff and departmental meetings providing status updates to Supervisor and Manager.</li> <li>Develops and maintains effective partnerships with product development and business teams in order to understand and anticipate their needs, the business environment, other challenges and opportunities.</li> <li>Maintains technical knowledge through training or other measures.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of proven success as a database developer and/or DBA required.</li> <li>5+ years years proven technical experience with SQL, Transactional SQL, DTS, Data Modeling, SQL Server, Oracle 10G, SQL Server DBA, Stored Procedures, RDBMS, index tuning and query optimization.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.</li> </ul>
