Collaborate with and support Vehicle Test and Development Department, Global Brake Engineering Groups as well as Marketing and Quality Divisions. </li> <li>Develop and calibrate brake by wire vehicles with emphasis on regional customer preferences for pedal feel and regenerative blending aspects.</li> <li>Conduct benchmarking of competitive vehicles, define future vehicle program brake requirements and support customer preference studies.</li> <li>Act as voice of North American customer.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>WHAT YOU WILL DO</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Develop and conduct objective brake testing and data analysis.</li> <li>Perform vehicle level brake validation and certification testing.</li> <li>Support development of North America specific braking aspects including pedal feel and regenerative brake control.</li> <li>Develop in-house testing, specify and procure test specific instrumentation as needed.</li> <li>Conduct objective benchmarking of competitive vehicles and quantify Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products at specified development gateway points.</li> <li>Support customer preference studies and turn subjective targets developed in benchmarking activities into measurable development parameters.</li> <li>Function as technical expert to Marketing and Quality teams and assist with brake problem diagnosis and resolution.</li> <li>Function as regional braking expert and communicate braking issues, market trends and customer expectations to Global Brake Engineering Groups.</li> <li>Assist in planning and monitoring of department budget.</li> <li>Create and present technical reports.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li><span>Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study</span></li> <li>Knowledge of Automotive Industry engineering and manufacturing</li> <li>Knowledge of electrified vehicle architecture</li> <li>Expert knowledge of brake‑by‑wire and regenerative brake systems</li> <li>Expert knowledge of Automotive Vehicle Dynamic Brake evaluation principles and practices</li> <li>Expert knowledge of SAE and FMVSS test procedures and methods related to automotive braking and ability to personally conduct such testing</li> <li>Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices</li> <li>Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and capability</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and ethical behavior</li> <li>Proficient driving skills</li> <li>Expert technical report writing skills</li> <li>Proficient with data acquisition systems and sensing equipment including CAN bus data acquisition</li> <li>Proficient Project Management skills</li> <li>Proficient skills in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook</li> <li>Proficient time management and organization skills</li> <li>Proficient self‑management skills</li> <li>Proficient oral and written communication skills</li> <li>5 years in Vehicle Dynamics testing and evaluation</li> <li>8 years in brake engineering, test, and development</li> <li>Experience working in a culturally diverse team environment</li> <li>Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record</li> <li>Documented professional high‑performance driving experience</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>OTHER DETAILS</b></H2> </div><div><p>Physical Demands, Work Environment, Travel Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Able to work in a culturally diverse team environment and in harsh climate conditions (Winter -40F, Summer +120F, altitude up to 14,000 ft)</li> <li>Travel up to 30%, up to 3 weeks in duration at a time, domestically and internationally to support product development, testing, and promotion</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><em>Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
