(HATCI) is looking for an engineer to join the Vehicle Development and Technology Team of the Safety Integration Department</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Position:</strong></p> <p>The Safety and Crashworthiness Performance Engineer would support pre-SOP safety-related vehicle development activities, including planning, executing, and analyzing safety-related tests to qualify new vehicle models for release in the North American market by meeting safety rating standards/targets</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Will Do:</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, and execute full vehicle and component-level crash tests (i.e., frontal, side, rear, rollover, static, and subsystem tests)</li> <li>Develop detailed test plans, procedures, instrumentation layouts, and data acquisition requirements</li> <li>Oversee test preparation, including vehicle builds, sensor installation, dummy preparation, and facility readiness</li> <li>Analyze crash test data, videos, and high-speed measurements to evaluate structural performance, occupant injury metrics, and safety system functionality</li> <li>Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering recommendations to support design improvements</li> <li>Contribute to best practices, test methodology improvements, and new test capabilities</li> <li>Collaborate with CAE team(s) to correlate simulation results with physical test outcomes</li> <li>Support the development of future models by identifying safety risks and proposing countermeasures</li> <li>Ensure compliance with global regulatory and consumer test standards (e.g., FMVSS, NCAP, IIHS, CMVSS, etc.)</li> <li>Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders, including proving grounds, suppliers, and safety rating agencies</li> <li>Maintain documentation, test records, and quality systems for auditing and traceability purposes</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Will Bring to the Role:</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in biomechanical, mechanical, or a related field of engineering</li> <li>Professional experience in planning, coordinating, and executing full vehicle and component-level crash tests (i.e., frontal, side, rear, rollover, static, and subsystem tests)</li> <li>Experience in analyzing crash test data (i.e., structural and occupant)</li> <li>Experience analyzing and/or performing structural crashworthiness and occupant-safety simulations (e.g., frontal, side, rear, rollover, pedestrian protection, etc.)</li> <li>Strong knowledge in automotive structure, crashworthiness, and safety performance</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), NCAP, and IIHS safety evaluations</li> <li>Experience using data analysis tools (e.g., DIAdem, Hyperworks, etc.) for testing purposes</li> <li>Knowledge of testing, test equipment, and the processes necessary to meet vehicle safety requirements</li> <li>Strong analytical skills</li> <li>Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> <li>Flexibility with program and process changes, as Hyundai/Kia/Genesis is willing to make late changes to satisfy customer needs</li> <li>Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills</li> <li>Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Project management experience</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What Hyundai Can Offer You:</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Zero-dollar Employee Premiums on Medical, Dental, and Vision for You and Your Family</li> <li>100% Employer-paid Disability and Life Insurance</li> <li>Generous Paid Time Off, Including Vacation, Sick, and Abundant Holidays</li> <li>Competitive Salaries</li> <li>A Global Environment that Fosters Diversity</li> <li>Retirement Savings and Planning Benefits</li> <li>Access to Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts </li> <li>Flexible Work Hours</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Other Details:</b></H2> </div><div><p>Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
