(HATCI)’s Regulation &amp; Certification Department is currently seeking a Vehicle Safety Regulatory Engineer for the Safety Certification &amp; Regulation Team at our Superior Township, MI facility just east of Ann Arbor.</p> <p>HATCI’s Regulation &amp; Certification Department helps support Hyundai and Kia vehicles to meet changing safety, environmental, and emissions standards at the federal, state, and local levels. Regulatory professionals research &amp; analyze future regulatory trends to recommend internal action; guide the direction of company research; help to develop policy for public positions; and communicate with agencies such as National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and Federal Communications Commission (FCC).</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>WHAT YOU WILL DO</b></H2> </div><div><ul type="disc"> <li>Review vehicle regulations and test procedures (FMVSS, state, &amp; territories) from governmental entities (NHTSA, OVSC, NCAP, etc.) for product applicability and draft conclusion documents in clear and easily understandable language.</li> <li>Represent the company during various safety compliance or consumer information tests; investigate any potential compliance issues and propose solutions.</li> <li>Perform visual compliance audits on new products.</li> <li>Support vehicle homologation and self-certification efforts.</li> <li>Prepare reports and responses to inquiries in a timely manner</li> <li>Engage in cross-functional activities to support compliance efforts</li> <li>Perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, travel requests, etc</li> <li>Perform additional functions related to motor vehicle safety regulations and technologies as assigned</li> <li>Other activities as required</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Experience with regulations and regulatory processes pertaining to motor vehicle safety at an automotive OEM, supplier, or government agency such as NHTSA is an asset but not necessary</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and oral</li> <li>Strong analytical skills</li> <li>Eagerness and capacity to learn</li> <li>Professional networking</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, high integrity, and ethical behavior</li> <li>Exceptional organization and time management skills</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Office</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in: <ul style="list-style-type:circle"> <li>Engineering or other analytical/technical fields</li> <li>Pre-law, law, or public policy</li> </ul> </li> <li>5+ years of experience</li> <li>Employee will have core compliance responsibilities but must be agile to support a dynamic landscape, both internally and externally. Domestic and international travel is associated with the position, not to exceed 20%.</li> <li><em>Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
