The school serves a range of special populations, including approximately 5% English Language Learners, 48% socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and 17% students with disabilities supported through the Resource Specialist Program. They will have experience building trust and community with stakeholders, leading to the ability to engage in collaborative initiatives that result in improved student outcomes. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build consensus for instructional practices and district policies. They will demonstrate a student-focused philosophy, have an open door policy, and be a great listener. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the California State Standards, LAUSD Leadership Framework, LAUSD Teaching and Learning Framework, Special Education, and District Instructional goals along with the ability to supervise and evaluate the instructional program and staff. They will have the ability to utilize school data to identify and develop strategies that address the school’s instructional needs. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and able to build on well-established systems and programs currently in place at the school.
