<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Operations Manager shall oversee the location’s functions related to manufacturing with a team of over 300 employees. The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective and successful safety performance, management of labor, productivity, continuous improvement, and quality control. Ensure safe and efficient operations for all departments. Formulate and implement departmental short and long-term plans consistent with company objectives for assigned department(s). Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions and adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness.</li> <li>Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace.</li> <li>Communicate with the safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA and other governmental regulations.</li> <li>In conjunction with cross functional resources, develop optimum capacity, efficiency, and profitability through the facilities and equipment improvements.</li> <li>Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.</li> <li>Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, system transactions, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.</li> <li>Review, prioritize and classify scheduling workload in support of plant and division business objectives.</li> <li>Builds organizational capability, while providing overall direction and accountability.</li> <li>Champion supporting the plant’s policies, objectives and goals.</li> <li>Achieve operating performance targets and improvements including cost reductions and reduced lead times.</li> <li>Accountable for providing accurate shipment forecasts and achieving forecast.</li> <li>Actively work development plans for all employee reports.</li> <li>Maintains and improves employee relationships with all personnel to ensure a progressive workforce, striving for continuous improvement.</li> <li>Responsibilities may include interviewing, selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; authoring and discussing with employee performance appraisals; addressing, employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards.</li> <li>Implement lean principals to achieve low-cost production and high quality through each manufacturing phase.</li> <li>Provide input to support functions, as they relate to process improvement and programs implementation.</li> <li>Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">5+ years’ experience in a production manufacturing or similar environment.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">3+ years’ experience in manufacturing/operations with previous management responsibilities required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Preferred - Experience in Lean or Six Sigma practices and philosophy.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and reporting tools.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word &amp; Outlook and ability to learn and instruct others on software applications.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Strong leadership skills and passion to share your knowledge and coach your team.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Strong knowledge of production processes in a lean manufacturing environment.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Excellent communication and human relations skills and the ability to lead and motivate subordinates.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Administrative skills to include planning, coordinating, team building, communication, organization and time management</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Ability to develop leadership skills, including planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting; problem solving, decision making, and negotiating.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Ability to define and analyze problems and develop timely and effective solutions, evaluating relevant facts to judge and form conclusions.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif">Must be available as needed to support a 24-hour a day operation.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p> <p>The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. </p> <p><strong>Travel:</strong></p> <p>Travel requirements are sporadic, but less than 10% of the time.<br><br></p>
