The candidate will be expected to work with project management, customer stakeholders, and with internal design, supply chain, production, and verification teams to successfully complete project engineering outputs. Success criteria for this role will include achieving project milestones, delivering systems that are technically compliant and fit for purpose, and meeting schedule and budget commitments. </span></p> <p><span style="color:black"><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="color:black"><strong>What will you do: </strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color:black">Become familiar with customer provided system requirement documents and statements of work</li> <li style="color:black">Work with the project manager, customers and stakeholders to manage engineering deliverables</li> <li style="color:black">Plan and oversee systems, hardware, and software engineering activities</li> <li style="color:black">Prioritize engineering activities</li> <li style="color:black">Write and/or review technical contents for documentation deliverables</li> <li style="color:black">Manage technical documentation including technical specifications, design, manufacturing and test/verification documents</li> <li style="color:black">Manage budget and resources allocated for engineering activities</li> <li style="color:black">Contribute to process improvements</li> </ul> <p><span style="color:black"><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="color:black"><strong>Required Skills and Experiences:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color:black"><span style="color:black">Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.</span></li> <li style="color:black">Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering processes</li> <li style="color:black">Experience working in the defence sector</li> <li style="color:black">Experience working in naval or marine environments</li> <li style="color:black">Knowledge of or experience with control account management </li> <li style="color:black">Experience with systems integration</li> <li style="color:black">Basic knowledge of project management</li> </ul> <p><br><span style="color:black"><strong> Preferred Additional Skills:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color:black">An specialty within the field of integrated communication systems</li> <li style="color:black">User experience with defence communications – ideally within the naval environment</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="color:black"><strong>Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color:black"><span style="color:black">Must be eligible for registration with the <strong>Controlled Goods Program</strong>;</span></li> <li style="color:black"><span style="color:black">Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada <strong>“Reliability”</strong> status and <strong>Level 2 (Secret)</strong> security clearance.</span></li> <li style="color:black"><span style="color:black">Must be eligible to meet the requirements for <strong>U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)</strong>.</span></li> </ul>
