The Operations Organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support key programs and help scale production processes for rapid growth. This role provides critical technical manufacturing leadership, drives continuous improvement, and enhances overall operational efficiency. It also collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop efficient production strategies, optimize workflows, and ensure high‑quality execution of all projects.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Essential Functions:</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Lead and execute manufacturing engineering activities for the assembly, test, and integration of electromechanical and optomechanical assemblies on assigned program(s)</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Author written work instructions from technical documentation and create manufacturing procedures and routers</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Lead design changes by coordinating with design engineering to address technical, operational, and obsolescence issues</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Interface with technicians and other operations personnel throughout hardware integration and test</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Propose and lead process improvement projects focused on optimization of manufacturing processes</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Estimate and track manufacturing costs; use that data to initiate continuous improvement activities</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Support capacity planning, space layout requirements, and risk reduction for upcoming programs</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Lead root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-sector, site-located teams—including design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production—to ensure product manufacturability and alignment with business objectives</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to early career professionals</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to integrate design and process integrity processes such as xFMEAs and Statistical Process Control (SPC)</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Qualifications:</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Preferred Additional Skills:</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Knowledge and/or experience with the aerospace industry or manufacturing engineering producing spaceflight hardware and PCBAs or cables</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 quality management systems</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Knowledge and/or understanding of circuit analysis, concurrent engineering, and operational concepts of new product development</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• A developed area of expertise/subject matter expertise</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Tool and/or fixture design</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $76,500-$142,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
