About the Role Our Mechanical Engineers are responsible for the design of highly complex opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical components from concept straight through to production. Although our work is driven by specific objectives, goals, and defined boundaries, we execute our work under wide guidelines Primary Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Establish short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Provide technical leadership and support to the extended L3 Harris Wescam Mechanical Engineering team</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Hold technical responsibility for the overall mechanical design integrity of all products designed at L3 Harris Wescam</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Participate in all technical design reviews to ensure mechanical design integrity is achieved</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Contribute to the conceptual design, detailed design and engineering validation of mechanical sub-systems and components as a team leader in reference to product design activities</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Foster career development of professional staff, and provide performance feedback through bi-yearly performance reviews.</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Develop and maintain the Mechanical Engineering design processes and standards</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Manage the selection of Mechanical Engineering tools to foster innovation and maximize efficiency of the product development process</li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">Estimate the cost and schedule of assigned mechanical work packages and validate work packages estimated by other mechanical leads/designers.
