<p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Job Title: Facilities Technician E – Cascade HVAC/R</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Job Code: 35517</strong></span></p> <p><strong style="font-size:14.0pt">Job Location: Cincinnati, OH</strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Job Schedule: 4/10; Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Job Description:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt">This position is for an HVAC Technician whose primarily responsibilities are to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a broad spectrum of test chambers including ultra-low temp, cascade refrigeration systems, chillers, ovens, and HVAC units located throughout the campus. This position will require the candidate to perform system controller upgrades, required calibrations, and retrofits to existing equipment. Other duties of this role include conducting routine and/or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will use both hand and power tools while performing tests, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of machines and equipment. The use of blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications are required.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>This is a first shift position. The current first shift schedule is 4x 10s, <a name="_Hlk167174049"></a>Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. There is some flexibility with start and stop times. Occasional Friday and/or Saturday overtime may be required.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong><u>Primary responsibilities:</u></strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance of HVAC/R systems and cascade systems, environmental test chambers, and ovens.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Perform calibration of temperature chambers, ovens, and other related devices, adjusting PID loops as necessary.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Install and maintain piping relative to facility HVAC/R processes.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Install and program system controllers for Watlow F4T, Solutions Plus, Thermotron, Envirotronics/Weiss Technik, ESPEC, etc.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Perform thermal surveys of temperature chambers.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Responsible for the quality of own work, for care of tools, and removal of waste and surplus after job completion.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong><u>Secondary responsibilities:</u></strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Maintain and repair the facility's structure, equipment, and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Install, align, dismantle, and move plant equipment in conformance with plant and facility layout.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 6 years of prior related experience.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">6 years or more experience in the operation, repair, and tuning of cascade refrigeration systems.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">6 years or more experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Must be able to work on lifts and ladders, lift over 50 pounds, and work in extreme temperature and high humidity conditions either inside or outside the building as necessary.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Must have a Universal EPA Certificate.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Based on site requirements, must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Preferred Additional Skills:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Use of common precision measuring instruments and gauges.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Calibration-Metrology.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">ISO9001 / AS9100 experience.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Experience working in a manufacturing environment.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Good communication skills and teamwork.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Journeyman or Master license, NATE (North American Technician Excellence), Refrigerant Handling (EPA 608).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Vocational or relevant training in at least one of the following trades is required: Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, or Plumbing. </span> </li> </ul>
