We are seeking a detail-oriented inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections of space flight components and assemblies. This individual may also be responsible for performing tests, analyses, and/or audits of complex products or processes to include microelectronics, optical components, mechanical components, test equipment, and fully integrated systems to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Essential Functions:</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions to validate inspection criteria</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Document inspection results clearly and accurately; complete final inspection reports as required</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Maintain company quality inspection plans and procedures</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Implement Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to enhance the quality system</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Perform audits of all applicable products from production and records results</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Responsible for performing functions associated with Quality Audit on all manufacturing products</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to communicate quality issues and support root cause investigations</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration status is current</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Qualifications:</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Preferred Additional Skills:</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise and accurate inspections</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Proficient in using mechanical inspection equipment</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled environment</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Knowledge and/or experience with NASA Standards, IPC Certifications, GD&T preferred</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills</span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ability to travel for source inspections and / or program support depending on program needs</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $49,500-$91,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
