Job Title: Sr. Specialist, Project Engineering – Propulsion Systems Job ID: 40172 Job Location: Onsite at our Canoga Park, CA facility Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: The Project Engineer will execute on “Cost Account Management” (CAM) duties as well as all phases of day-to-day tactical duties on assigned propulsion programs. Key responsibilities include: <ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Driving project action to achieve operational and financial objectives for an existing program. </li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for designated project areas while coordinating with varied groups and working with a program lead or manager to achieve results. </li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Working with customer contacts for project activities</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Participating in sessions with customers for assigned aspects of project execution. </li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Assisting in coordinating program support, production, and supply chain teams to ensure on time and on budget efforts.</li> </ul> Essential Functions: <ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Lead CAM duties utilizing “Earned Value Management System” (EVMS) with quick turnaround cycles. Manage the technical aspects, cost and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) of projects utilizing EVM principles to ensure financial well-being of the overall program as well as generating end-to-end proposal development for submittal to customer.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Work under IPT Lead consultative direction with minimal oversight and has responsibility for project or processes within the functional program management area.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Possess thorough understanding of various engineering and manufacturing processes such as design, specification generation, BOM’s, manufacturing planning, tooling, procurement, production scheduling, validation test planning as well as quality functions.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Brief management and supporting program managers for briefing customers on all facets of assigned projects.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Up to 10% business travel to suppliers and other production sites.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Position may require extended hours as needed to meet business objectives.</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li style="line-height:107%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;color:black">Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.</li> <li style="line-height:107%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;color:black">Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance</li> </ul> Preferred Additional Skills: <ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Communicates well, both verbal and written, with contacts within and outside the organization (e.g. customers, suppliers, etc.) for execution of the project objectives.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Unique industry knowledge and experience with small thruster storable propellant propulsion systems development, manufacturing, and Hot Fire validation testing.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Ability to understand propulsion system technical drawings and specifications. </li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Ability to participate and produce proposals including customer requirement synthesis, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) definition, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) definition, Pricing Inputs and Basis of Estimate (BOE) generation.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Experience with Government Propulsion customers and prime contractors.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Experience with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, Power Point, Word).</li> </ul> In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the state of California is $106,500 - $197,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
