<p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif">Associate, Manufacturing Engineering</span></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif">Reference #40091</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif">Waterdown, Ontario</span></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt">This role is a primary Service Manufacturing Engineering (ME) contact person to the service ATLAS team; focused on quality and reliability within the cell, in addition to on time delivery and repair turnaround time. This person is integral to the daily success of the cell team and is responsible for using root-cause analysis tools to resolve issues quickly and completely.</span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Responsible for both service and production items within the ATLAS cell</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Act as a point of contact to the ATLAS cell for assistance in troubleshooting and resolving system level mechanical, electro-mechanical and electro optical manufacturing issues.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Create and maintain documentation to support manufacturing changes, including Service processes, Work Instructions and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Attend and provide responses to daily cell standup meetings.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Participate in cell MRB meetings, and required TRB meetings including supporting closure of NCRs and disposition of non-conforming material.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Support Engineering for NPI projects and stage gates</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Responsible for the development of processes and procedures for WESCAM products. This includes the creation of PFMEA, SPC, First Pass Approval (FPA), control plans, tooling and test procedures. </span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Reviewing change requests generated by engineering and service staff for impact to process, product flow, product quality and documentation, and implement changes as required.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Leadership and support for continuous improvement initiatives and projects. </span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><a name="Text7"></a>Conduct 8D root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Working in partnership with the Service Projects ME to identify waste in the ATLAS process such as motion, waiting, etc. and support creating data driven improvements utilizing Lean tools such as RCCA, 5S, Value Steam Mapping (VSM), etc.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Support any other business priorities as required by Operations Engineering leadership.</span></li> </ul> <p class="CxSpMiddle"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif"><strong><u>Desired Skills:</u></strong></span></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><a name="Text8"></a>Manufacturing Engineering experience in a high tech assembly environment.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Excellent knowledge of Systems, Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing and Process Engineering.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Technical communication skills both verbal and written.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Able to troubleshoot and “real-time" problem solve manufacturing issues.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Must be well organized, goal oriented and able to give attention to detail.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.</span></li> </ul> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Able to read and understand Mechanical drawings and Electrical schematics.</span></li> </ul> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">AS9100 knowledge and experience an asset, but not required.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Experience using SolidWorks, Composer and AutoCAD an asset, but not required. </span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Green Belt Certification or equivalent industry lean experience an asset, but not required.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Project Management Professional (PMP) an asset, but not required.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng) an asset, but not required.</span></li> </ul> <p class="CxSpFirst"> </p> <p class="CxSpFirst"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif"><strong><u>Experience & Education Requirements</u></strong></span></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif">University degree; or 3-year College diploma coupled with relevant work experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. </span></span></li> </ul> <p style="font-size:14.0pt"> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt">*This posting is for a current vacancy.
