Additionally, the technician will work closely with the Front-Line Operations Leadership and Engineering staff to support investigate day-to-day issues that arise in the Coating production cell.</span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Analyze and interpret</strong> complex optical schematics, ensuring precise execution of assembly, integration and testing procedures</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Execute</strong>- Inspect, clean, load coating chambers and troubleshooting of complex optical components following all established manufacturing processes and procedures in alignment with AS9100 and MIL standards</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Diagnose and troubleshoot</strong> spherical, Aspheric, plano optical components, including but not limited to visible and IR optics, achieving surface quality into the 20/10 range for scratch dig tolerances.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Investigate and resolve</strong> faults by collaborating with senior technicians and engineers, contributing to continuous product development and process improvement</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Effectively manage multiple priorities</strong>, manufacturing testing and measuring and troubleshooting tasks to meet critical project timelines and production goals</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Engage in cross-functional collaboration</strong>, work closely with Operation Engineers, production teams, and management to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Ensuring meticulous documentation,</strong> maintaining detailed records of maintenance, test results, troubleshooting efforts and implemented solutions. Including details PM on the vacuum coating chambers and tools.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives,</strong> identifying inefficiencies in processes, recommending enhancements, and implementing best practices to optimize performance and workflow efficiency.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Required Capabilities</strong></span></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Technical Proficiency</strong> – Strong ability to read and interpret optical & mechanical drawings and test procedures</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Optical Expertise</strong> –experience in the understanding complex optical elements and the principles of Optical vacuum chambers</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Troubleshooting & Diagnostics</strong> – Skilled in identifying, analyzing and resolving optical issues</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Strong Collaboration & Communication</strong> – Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers, production teams and management. Good English communication skills in both written and verbal that translate into working in a team-based environment.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Continuous Improvement & Safety Mindset</strong> – Abilities to think critically, identify inefficiencies in processes, suggest improvements and be open minded to change.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>High Standards</strong> in quality with attention to detail, Capable of learning and taking on new tasks with an increasing level of responsibility</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Desired Education and Experiences</strong> </span></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 to 5 years of prior related experience.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">2-5 years of previous work experience in a optical vacuum coating discipline</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Previous work experience in an ISO 9000/ AS9100 and Lean Manufacturing environment is an asset</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles an asset, but not required</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Ability to safely handle delicate optical parts and on occasion lift 30 lbs.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Must be eligible for registering with Controlled Goods Program of Canada</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Ability to effectively operate complicated equipment such as Coating chambers, Humidity chambers, CNC and associated equipment</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt">*This posting is for a current vacancy.
