The Disability Case Manager is an integral member of a client service team proactively managing assigned disability claims by evaluating medical information and job duties, developing case management and return to employment plans during periods of disability. What you will do: <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Perform proactive management of assigned disability claims (STD, LTD and Life Waiver) by determining the length of disability through an evaluation of medical information and job duties.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Evaluate the extent of the disability through effective verbal and written communication skills to conduct medical investigation by phone or in writing to the applicant, employer, physicians or medical service professionals, lawyers and respond to all inquiries.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Use your critical thinking skills to make decisions based on the results of your overall assessment of each claim.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Implement return-to-work programs and coordinate with the employer.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Conduct health care coordination and rehabilitation programs to ensure they meet employability goals. </li> </ul> What you will bring: <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Experience or training in one of the following fields: health and wellness, disability and life or health insurance, injury claims, or customer service. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills in a client-facing environment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Effective planning, organizational and time management skills.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Solution-oriented and strong decision-making skills.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Team player and with the ability to work independently.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Tech savvy – adaptable and proficient with new programs/systems.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;color:dimgray">Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment.
