This individual will prepare estimates and lead preconstruction teams for project pursuits, using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating methods for small to large scale projects in the Energy, Automotive, Manufacturing and Industrial markets. </p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'"> </p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Principal Duties & Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):</p> <ul style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-bottom:0.0in" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Prepare estimates for variety of contract types including lump sum, CM, design build, EPC</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Interact and effectively communicate with clients and team members</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Perform and/or lead others to complete typical estimating facets such as:</li> <ul style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-bottom:0.0in" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimate</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Solicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers </li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify pricing information</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Prepare estimate formats in such areas as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs, and bid analysis</li> </ul> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Write detailed scopes of work for construction contracts to be implemented by Project Delivery</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Work with Project Delivery in the Procurement of trade work</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Prepare outline schedules for proposed projects</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Assist staff members with various special projects related to overall preconstruction and estimating efforts</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Mentor and assist in the development of less experienced personnel</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Develop estimates utilizing Excel and WinEst </li> </ul> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Job Specifications (*Essential Requirements):</p> <ul style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-bottom:0.0in" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent professional experience</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">3+ years’ experience in construction estimating with a Construction Management or General Contracting firm</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Market experience preferred in, but not all required, automotive, power & energy, light and heavy industrial</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Experience in developing competitive design build and hard bid</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Experience in effectively leading preconstruction teams to win work</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the Owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Working knowledge of trades: scope, time frames, field execution and potential risks/exposures</li> <li style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-right:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:107%;URW DIN'">Demonstrate understanding and knowledge about
