Classroom teaching responsibilities (80%)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Establish classroom environments that are creative, focused, engaging, and which embody IB philosophy and the mission statement of the school.</li> <li>Use flexible teaching methodologies that engage students with diverse learning styles.</li> <li>Lead by example, demonstrate the IB learner profile in action, and guide students toward becoming open-minded, compassionate, thoughtful learners with a global perspective.</li> <li>Assess and respond to student abilities and progress, adapting their approach with different teaching styles.</li> <li>Undertake lesson preparation, set/mark examinations, write student reports, and develop assessments aligned to the IB requirements and the school calendar.</li> <li>Effective use of the learning management system.</li> <li>Set and mark students’ work accurately and promptly, giving guidance and work according to their needs, supporting their development and progression. </li> <li>Provide regular and supportive feedback to students and parents. </li> <li>Support students' personal development and wellbeing and seek support from the School Counsellor and Programme Heads where welfare concerns are identified.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Job description - Team responsibilities (15%) </strong></p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, unit planning, assessment development, and improvement programs. </li> <li>Openly exchange ideas, expertise, resources, and tools with colleagues and within the subject areas to improve teaching within the school. </li> <li>Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the appropriate curricula and current teaching trends, digital tools, and developments</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Job description - School-wide responsibilities (5%) </strong></p> <ul> <li>Be an academic and pastoral mentor to a group of students. </li> <li>Foster and promote a sense of pride and positive community spirit among staff and students. </li> <li>Undertake cover lessons when required. </li> <li>Assist with marking and evaluating placement exams when necessary. </li> <li>Compulsory attendance at meetings both during and outside of school hours including: school meetings, staff meetings, subject area meetings, interdisciplinary meetings, supervising student breaks, home-room activities & other meetings which are required by the school. </li> <li>Complete supervision duties according to the calendar (possible duties include lunch supervision, drop-off or departure duty, uniform checks, bus supervision, break, and supervision).</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Required Skills/Abilities</H2> </div><div><p> </p> <p><strong>Qualifications Requested </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid Italian work VISA)</span></strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">.</span></li> <li>A relevant bachelor’s degree and teacher qualification. </li> <li>Immaculate police check(s).</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Contract Duration </strong></p> <ul> <li>Fixed-term, with the possibility for extension.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Experience </strong></p> <ul> <li>A minimum of <strong>two years of recent and relevant experience</strong> in a comparable school environment. </li> <li>Relevant teaching experience within the subject area(s), <strong>preferably in an IB school (MYP and/or DP)</strong>. </li> <li>Specialist skills & knowledge. </li> <li>Proven ability to plan and deliver innovative inquiry-based lessons that engage students and address their diverse learning needs. </li> <li>Demonstrated ability to use <strong>digital tools</strong> and resources effectively to enhance learning. </li> <li>Planning and organisational skills. </li> <li>Fluent English: reading, speaking, writing (Common European Framework of Reference -
