This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and useability of the company’s critical data assets.</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:115%"><span style="">Reporting to the AD Head of Data Governance and Reference Data, the Data Governance Policy Compliance VP will be primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of Enterprise Data Governance Framework with focus on policy adoption and compliance, controls framework performance, and regulatory and audit response.</span></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px">Role Objectives</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style=""><span style="">Support and coordinate with SMBC entities and business functions on enterprise Data Governance strategy roll out including establishing, managing and implementing policy adoption plans, compliance metrics, communications and training</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Produce recommendations for enterprise-wide Data Governance guiding principles, policies, standards, processes and practices in alignment with SMBCAD’s Chief Data &amp; Analytics Office</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Identify improvement opportunities to streamline processes and maximize efficiencies within the Data Governance program</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Interface with Functional Data Officers and other enterprise stakeholders on Data Governance policies and standards; ensure roles and responsibilities related to data are understood and implemented across businesses</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Support key Data Transformation projects across the organization as Subject Matter Expert in Data Governance</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Assists in the remediation of Audit and Regulatory feedback on issues related to Data Governance</span></li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px">Qualifications and Skills</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style=""><span style="">10+ years of experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred in a Data Governance, Data Controls, Policy Compliance or related area</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Bachelor’s/University degree required; Master’s degree preferred</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate business ideas and topics to technical and nontechnical audience</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Ability to collaborate with and successfully contribute to cross-functional teams and work with people from regions around the world</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with stakeholders in various departments of the firm, or across lines of defense</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Ability to work under pressure, operate comfortably in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and manage a significant workload with minimal supervision</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Highly organized individual with exceptional attention to details, strong sense of accountability and collaboration skills</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Working knowledge of Data Governance, Data Operating Model practices, and Data Compliance within medium/large, financial institutions</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Knowledge of SQL and Collibra is a plus </span></li> <li style=""><span style="">MS Office (Word, Advanced Excel Formulas, Power Point), MS Project and Visio. </span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Familiarity with PowerBI or Tableau</span></li> </ul></div></div></div><p>SMBC’s employees participate in a Hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home, as well as, from an SMBC office.
