<p><span style="">Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Civil/Structural CAD Technician II to join our team.</span></p><p><span style="">The CAD Technician II will assist the drafting and design team with creating and modifying a CAD drawing. This will include creating, modifying, receiving a basic red lined drawing and making the associated changes to the drawing. These drawings are then used to create bidding and construction documents for the client.</span></p> <p><span style="">This position requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requires a technical education. This individual will work under moderate supervision.</span></p> <h1><span style="">Responsibilities:</span></h1> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">Perform a wide range of drafting tasks.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Prepare plans, layouts, assembly drawings, detail drawings and sketches as directed by engineers.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Knowledge of building codes, federal transportation regulations, development of details and the organization of construction documents.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Revise existing drawings as required and correct “As Built” drawings.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Conceptualize and design in a CAD Technician II role and communicate successfully in CAD using current industry standards.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Responsible for maintaining accurate design and drawing archives and revision history.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Effectively communicate while working in a team environment across multiple office locations.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Obtain a general understanding of any overall project goals, constraints, and schedule requirements</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Proactively provide status updates, discuss challenges, and address plan revisions</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Deliver complete and accurate drawings within schedule parameters</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Compute calculations under the direction of a designer or engineer.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="">Position Requirements:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">AAS degree in drafting and design, engineering, or related field</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Previous discipline focused experience preferred</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Oil/gas industry experience is preferred.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="">◆ Knowledge, skills, and abilities</span></p> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">Have an intermediate understanding of AutoCAD</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Moderate skillset in Autodesk 3D products (Civil 3D, Plant 3D, CADWorx, Solidworks etc.)</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Proficient with Microsoft Office</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Must have good mathematical background to handle common calculations.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Willing to learn new skills and work as a team to meet deadlines.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="">Physical Requirements and Demands:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Routinely use standard office equipment such as but not limited to: computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location.
