<p>Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.</p> <div> <div> <p><span><span>The Senior Mechanical Engineer will </span><span>be responsible for</span><span> the mechanical design of facilities and systems associated with energy industry projects from </span><span>inception</span><span> through delivery. This individual will </span><span>be responsible for</span><span> performing engineering analysis and calculations, </span><span>serve</span><span> as the mechanical lead, </span><span>develop</span><span> reports, interface with clients, as well as </span><span>provide</span><span> guidance to more junior personnel. They will lead </span><span>large sized</span><span> projects and make decisions and recommendations on technical or complex issues. In addition, the senior engineer will need to excercise considerable judgment and initiative in interpreting policy in the planning and implementation of major work assignments.</span></span><span> </span></p> </div> <div> <p><strong><span>Responsibilities:</span><span> </span></strong></p> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Provide engineering </span><span>expertise</span><span> </span><span>for</span><span> mechanical design, oversee the development of drawing packages, estimating, and functions for projects involving pipelines, process sit</span><span>e</span><span>s, and other energy industry related facilities.</span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Provide technical </span><span>assistance</span><span> to Engineering and Operations Departments to resolve operating problems or to </span><span>establish</span><span> best operating practices.</span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Take initiative to </span><span>determine</span><span> </span><span>best</span><span> paths forward for effective project execution. </span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span>Effectively complete projects using engineering principles and techniques.</span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>R</span><span>e</span><span>ad and interpret P&ID</span><span>s</span><span>, technical drawings, schematics, equipment specifications, and technical reports.</span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Develop detailed P&IDs</span><span>. </span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Maintain deep knowledge of industry codes, </span><span>materials</span><span> and material specifications</span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span>Produce details for project specifications and develop design requirements for projects.</span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span>Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.</span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Perform modifications to computer aided design (CAD) and drafting functions to </span><span>assist</span><span> in completion of project deliverables.</span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Perform design analyses, engineering calculations, and </span><span>write</span><span> technical reports.</span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Effectively direct and lead project teams for </span><span>accurate</span><span> and </span><span>timely</span><span> execution. </span></span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span>Work with CAD designers to develop drawing packages suitable for project construction.</span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span>Interpret project scopes and develop effective proposals accordingly. </span><span> </span></p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li> <p><span><span>Provide direction to junior</span><span>-level </span><span>personnel. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location.
