If so, we look forward to getting to know you!</p> <p>The position is initially limited to two years, with the possibility of a permanent contract by mutual agreement.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><h2><strong>Your personal sphere of influence:</strong></h2> <p>As a technician with a HTL Matura and relevant professional experience (ideally HTL engineer) or with equivalent qualifications - e.g. state-certified technician (D) or relevant bachelor&apos;s degree - with a focus on electrical engineering/(micro-)electronics or similar you will support the research work of the Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics group.</p> <p>In an international university research environment, you can expect a varied job and as part of our team of technicians, you will exchange ideas and complement each other’s work.</p> <p>With your work, you will contribute to trend-setting projects in atmospheric and climate research and regularly cooperate with leading international institutions such as the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><h2><strong>Your future tasks:</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p>You will support the scientists of the aerosol group in the assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical/electronic components, devices and measurement instruments</p> </li> <li> <p>You will further develop our microcontroller-based control systems and, together with scientists, design new systems for control and data acquisition including design and assembly of printed circuit boards</p> </li> <li> <p>You will lay out power supplies and wire devices and sensors; select suitable components for this purpose and order them</p> </li> <li> <p>You will support the aerosol group in IT tasks</p> </li> <li> <p>You will support the monitoring of the measurement instruments and data collection during multiweek measurement campaigns with research aircraft abroad, in cooperation with international partner institutions</p> </li> <li> <p>You will support the ongoing operation of the laboratory (calibration, maintenance and spare parts management/orders)</p> </li> <li> <p>You will create and maintain technical documentation</p> </li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><h2><strong>This is part of your personality: </strong></h2> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>HTL Matura plus relevant professional experience (ideally HTL engineer) or equivalent education (e.g. State-certified technician (D) or relevant degree (Bachelor)) with a focus on electrical engineering/(micro-)electronics or similar.</li> <li>Experience in the design, implementation and layout of microcontroller systems, including printed circuit boards (PCBs) from circuit diagram to prototype</li> <li>Programming skills</li> <li>Very good knowledge of English (C1+)</li> <li>Willingness to travel internationally for measurement campaigns in the USA and other countries with a typical duration of several weeks are necessary</li> <li>Reliable, regular presence in the laboratory on site in Vienna</li> <li>Ability to work in a structured, goal-oriented and independent manner</li> <li>Ability to work in a team and flexibility in the area of responsibility</li> <li>Capability to participate in research flights</li> <li>Class B driving licence</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of common interfaces and protocols</li> <li>Experience with 3D printing and CAD programs</li> <li>Ability to improvise</li> <li>IT skills (hardware/software, networks)</li> <li>Experience with measurement campaigns (especially aircraft measurements)</li> <li>Knowledge of German or willingness to acquire is an advantage</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Your particular working style:</strong> You work in a goal-oriented, self-reliant, structured and forward-looking manner.
