It was founded in 2005 to deepen the collaboration between the two universities in the field of molecular biosciences. State-of-the-art research infrastructure supports their work in basic biomedical research.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><h2><strong>Your personal sphere of play:</strong></h2> <p>The Ameres Lab is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Postdoc to lead, support and coordinate research projects in RNA biology, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms of cytoplasmic and nuclear RNA degradation and turnover in mammalian cells. The position includes responsibilities for practical and theoretical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and RNA Biology.</p> <p><br>The Ameres lab is an internationally competitive, innovative, and creative research group investigating fundamental cellular mechanisms in the regulation of gene expression and RNA metabolism by combining genome-wide transcriptomics approaches with cutting-edge genetic, molecular and biochemical assays.<br><br><br></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><h2><strong>Your future tasks:</strong></h2> <p>Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>This involves initiating, planning, coordinating, and supporting research projects and scientific studies in RNA biology, publishing in international peer-reviewed journals, giving lectures and seminars, contributing to practical and theoretical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in Biology/Molecular Biology, co-supervising and mentoring Master's and PhD students, taking over organizational responsibilities in the lab and the institute, and getting involved in occasional public outreach activities.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><h2><strong>This is part of your personality: </strong></h2> <ul> <li>PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field</li> <li>Excellent understanding of and prior experience in RNA Biology, in particular RNA decay and turnover, RNA exosome biology, and the molecular mechanisms of (post-transcriptional) gene regulation and related biological processes</li> <li>Strong expertise in genetic engineering (CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing), mammalian cell culture (BSL1/BSL2), flow cytometry, transcriptomics and next-generation sequencing (NGS), proteomics, and basic molecular biology and biochemistry.
