<h1><strong>Intern, LATAM Corporates – Consumer & Retail – Mexico City/Monterrey</strong></h1> <p><strong>Fitch is seeking an Intern for supporting the LATAM Corporates Consumer & Retail team based out of our Mexico City or Monterrey office.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Qualitative credentials will weigh meaningfully in the selection of the candidate. A healthy sense of intellectual curiosity is critical, along with a willingness and ability to attack and explain topics of analytical complexity. Fitch is a team-oriented work environment, so excellent communication skills are essential, as is a high productivity work-ethic and results oriented mindset.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>An opportunity to be in the LATAM Consumer & Retail team at a global rating agency.</li> <li>A team-oriented work environment.</li> <li>The Intern will have the opportunity to develop through both an extensive credit and financial analysis curriculum and working directly with experienced sector analysts.</li> <li>Fitch Ratings is a global company with a presence in over 30 countries, offering opportunities to work with diverse teams and clients from around the world.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>We’ll Count on You To:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support analysts who are focused on non-financial entities in the LATAM Consumer & Retail team.</li> <li>Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the LATAM Consumer & Retail team, in support of existing ratings, new rating mandates and research publications for the team.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining Fitch’s financial databases and key economic data.</li> <li>Research and surveillance of market information and credit trends.</li> <li>Support lead analysts prepare presentations for credit rating committees.</li> <li>Support publication of sector-specific research and insightful commentaries.</li> <li>Occasionally collaborate with senior team members on presentations for Fitch’s external audience.</li> <li>Back office file maintenance.</li> <li>Data bases administration.</li> <li>Support special projects.</li> <li>Plus other duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What You Need to Have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Student in his/her final years of undergraduate in the fields of economics, financial studies, accounting or similar career;</li> <li>Little or no experience;</li> <li>Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written);</li> <li>Strong understanding of Excel and Word;</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills; </li> <li>Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.</li> <li>It is important that the candidate should be a good team player, being able to cope with time pressure and deadlines.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What Would Make You Stand Out:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated interest in credit analysis and corporate finance;</li> <li>Want to deepen their exposure to and understanding of the debt capital markets;</li> <li>Have exposure to financial statement analysis in a work or classroom setting;</li> <li>Have solid interpersonal skills displayed by a strong pattern of leadership and the ability to interact with various stakeholders proactively and successfully across a variety of departments within the organization</li> <li>Have some knowledge and/or a keen interest in the Consumer, Food & Beverage, Agriculture, Protein and Retail sectors;</li> <li>Enjoy critical thinking, including developing and sharing well-reasoned opinions.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Why Fitch?</strong></p> <p>At Fitch Group, the combined power of our global perspectives is what differentiates us.
